ABDUL - Dr Abdul Burhan (Psychiatrist) - General Adult and Psychiatry of Old Age
MB Ch B - FRANZCP, Cert POA
Abdul graduated from medical school in 1990, during his work as medical officer in various specialties he was specially attracted to psychiatry. He was awarded with the Fellowship of Psychiatry by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry in 2008. Dr Burhan established the Shellharbour Psychological Medicine Clinic aiming to offer a holistic model of care to all of his clients.
Dr Burhan has extensive experience in all areas of psychiatry and a sound background in general medicine.
BEV - Dr Beverley Rayers (Psychiatrist) - Old Age Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry.
Bev obtained her Bachelor of Medicine at Southampton University Medical School in England. She worked throughout Australia and the UK in General Practice, Addiction Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Remote and Rural Health before undertaking further specialist training as a Psychiatrist.
She has a Masters Degree in Public Health and Tropical Medicine from Townsville University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Drug and Alcohol Treatment from the Imperial College, London.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and is a clinical Senior Lecturer in Mental Health at the University of Wollongong. Dr Rayers will generally only see clients over the age of 55 while in her clinic at Shellharbour.
HABIB - Dr Habib Behi (Certified Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist).
Dr Behi qualified in Medicine in 2000 (UK) and undertook specialist training in Psychiatry in Wales, obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) in 2007, Certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (GMC UK) and since moving to Australia in 2011 has gained Fellowship with the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (2013). Habib has worked across community based and hospital (inpatient) environments looking after children, adolescents and young adults with mental illness and psychological problems.
WAEL - Dr W.Wahaib Al Doorie (Psychiatrist) - General Adult Psychiatry
Dr Al Doorie is a Consultant General Psychiatrist with 24 years experience in Psychiatry. Dr Al Doorie graduated in 1986 MBCHB, with three qualifications in Psychiatry, 1994 FICMS, 2001 CAB, 2012 FRANZCP. He has been working in Australia over the last 7 years, moving to the area from Tasmania 4 years ago. He is a Consultant Psychiatrist in Shellharbour Hospital, and senior lecturer in UOW.
SUNERA - Dr Sunera Fernando (Psychiatrist) - General Adult Psychiatry
Sunera has eleven years experience of working in psychiatry. She graduated from medical school in 2001. She obtained her MD Psychiatry in 2007 and was awarded the FRANZCP in 2014, and has obtained PhD from UOW. Currently she is a staff specialist at the Nowra Community Mental Health Centre. Apart from clinical work, she is a Visiting Honorary Research Fellow of the University of Wollongong, and a Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Graduate School of Medicine (UOW). Sunera has expertise in all areas of psychiatry, with special interest in anxiety disorders.
HARSHA - Dr Harsha Ediriweera (Psychiatrist) - General Adult and Intellectual Disability Psychiatry.
Harsha graduated in medicine in 2001, and worked in different specialties until he undertook specialist training in psychiatry in Australia. He obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2017 and works as a Consultant Psychiatrist at Shellharbour Hospital. Harsha has a keen interest in managing psychiatric disorders in intellectual disability and neurodevelopmental disorders, especially in older adolescents and adults. He was awarded a training fellowship in Intellectual Disability Psychiatry and completed the training. He also has experience in general adult psychiatry, and is available to assess and diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder in adults.
ROGER - Dr Roger Blackmore (Developmental Paediatrician)
Dr Blackmore is a developmental paediatrician with many years of experience working with families of young children with developmental difficulties in South Western Sydney Local health District as a staff specialist paediatrician. His area of interest is in the assessment of pre-school age children. Dr Blackmore believes that working in partnership with parents and carers is the key to supporting families as well as involving other allied health professionals such as psychologists, speech pathologists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, and early education services as necessary to gain the clearest understanding of child and family needs.
Developmental assessments is a complex undertaking and requires patience, allowing children to show us not just what they find difficulty, but their strengths as well.

Dr Sue Thomas (Clinical Psychologist)
Dr Sue Thomas specializes in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder, primarily through cognitive-behavioural approaches.
Sue completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology examining the cognitive neuroscience of OCD. Medicare rebates available.
